Rain City Clay: Wheel Throwing: All Levels
This continuing wheel class with Ryan McDonald focuses on refining functional forms and developing strong surface techniques. Students will work on creating consistent shapes while improving skills like handle pulling, carving, and working with slips. Emphasis will be placed on efficient throwing—moving clay from the foot into the walls—and building confidence in repetition.

Niche × Rain City Clay: Functional Ware Exhibition
Rain City Clay and Niche (Wendi Hawley) are pleased to present a fall exhibition of functional ceramic work by the RCC Crew and Company. The show highlights cups and vessels that balance everyday use with a strong artistic voice, and will be displayed in Niche’s storefront gallery in Ballard, Washington.

The Federal Way Arts Commission hosts the annual Arts Explosion Juried Art Show Festival at the Performing Arts & Event Center (PAEC). This vibrant celebration of creativity showcases the talents of both adult and youth artists from across the region, while promoting artistic growth, diversity, and community engagement.
From paintings and photography to sculpture, artisan work, and miniatures, Arts Explosion showcases a wide range of artistic styles and media. Artwork will be on display throughout the festival and available for public viewing and purchase. Join us to explore local talent, support artists, and experience the arts in an engaging, welcoming setting.

Sip In Style! Workshop
Pottery Northwest proudly presents this workshop in collaboration with Arte Noir and their upcoming exhibition Black Clay. As part of this partnership, we are delighted to offer this workshop at a discounted price for our community.
In this hands-on workshop with Ryan McDonald, participants will learn simple hand-building techniques to create their own unique clay cup. This beginner-friendly class moves at a relaxed pace, allowing plenty of time for guidance and creativity. By the end, each person will have a functional piece ready to be glazed and fired, perfect for enjoying coffee, tea, or any favorite drink. No prior clay experience needed—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to get your hands dirty!
